Clip Art Club has officially started!!!

I sent out the first e-mailed pdf of clip art to people on my e-mail list and so far I've gotten nothing but good responses to it! If you would like to join the list please visit my website and submit your e-mail address. I plan to get out one new sheet of clip art each week which can be used for newsletters, projects, kid's coloring sheets or anything! For a bigger project I will send out a high-res or colored pic for a small fee.

Another Pretty Treasure Box

Finally broke down and bought a dremel tool to help me get some of these salvaged wood items ready for painting. This is the first project I've used it on. I sanded off the entire top, which had some damage and didn't look very nice. Then I painted and sealed it. The paint looked so cool I decided not to woodburn it. This little box will be up on Etsy shortly.

"Enjoyment" is Nearly Done

...and it's certainly living up to it's name. This piece has been a complete joy to work on. I really like how the light and dark lines have come into the picture with balance and flow and I like all the fun details and movement. It's hard not to just continue working on something like this, but I know I need to stop somewhere and I really like how it looks right now. All I need to do now is paint the frame and seal the entire piece.

Creating recycled cupcake stands

Couldn't stomach paying $60 to rent a plastic tiered cupcake stand for the wedding. Decided to create my own display using vintage plates and glass vases which I bought second-hand for about $12.

Cupcake Stands for Wedding

Here is the finished product! I think it's going to look very elegant all done up with the cupcakes and some nasturtium flowers and leaves from our garden.

More T-shirts - Painted at my booth at the Farmer's Market!!!

Finally decided to give it a try - painting shirts at my booth. Wasn't sure how well it would work out. If I could juggle my paints and not make a big mess. I was very pleased to be so inspired working out in the open air! I definitely plan to make this a habit from now on!

You can now order prints of my shirts!!!!

I've finally, finally found a company I like that will print individual shirts with my designs printed on them. They use only USA, ethically made t-shirts and will also print on organic shirts! Best of all, they are right here in Columbus! So, if you live around here you can save on shipping by picking up your shirt on High Street! Woot!!!

I've only got a few shirt designs uploaded so far, but I plan to add more - check it out!!!

Getting back into t-shirt season

Got my t-shirt inventory organized this week and started working on painting my blanks. The first farmer's market is next month and I've only got a few t-shirts left from last year!

Enjoying "Enjoyment"

I've begun a new salvaged cupboard door piece. This work in progress is so far named "Enjoyment" because that is what keeps coming to my mind as I work on it. I have painted it with whimsical acrylic washes and am now woodburning some details into it. My plans at this point include adding some shadows with acrylic, painting some of the frame with the same colors as the interior and adding some white highlights after I woodburn the piece.

"Enjoyment" Detail work

Here is a closer shot of some of the woodburning I am doing on this piece. I like to listen to music when I do this and so far my favorite music for this piece is Andreas Volenwieder. Very passionate and grand and well, enjoyable.

Wave Box Finished!

I finished the wave box and sent it to work with Carl to give back to Dawn. He said that she loved the box and she said if I'd known her all her life I couldn't have made the box more perfect for her. What a wonderful compliment! I'm so happy she likes it and glad it turned out so nice.

UCBDD Window Design

Here is the design for a window painting for Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities. I am painting it in the Copy Source window in downtown Marysville. I'm using Tempora so that it will be easy to wash off again in a month!

Painted The Copy Source Window for UCBDD

Here is the finished window - pretty tough to get a good shot without too much glare at this time of day. People were noticing it though. Had a few people walk by and watch me paint for a while and one lady asked how much I would charge to paint her window... I included my name and number on the bottom right corner in case anyone is in need of a window painter.

Trees Tatooed!

I designed this tatoo! My first ever. Actually, it was a t-shirt that caused quite a stir and has gotten a lot of attention at the markets - but, no buyers. Amanda saw it at the Sprout Soup market last fall and asked if she could have it tatooed on her back. I was and am so very honored that someone would make my art a permanent feature on their body for life! If it werent for my problem with needles, maybe I could consider a career as a tatoo artist...

Salvaged Cloth Bag

Got very into a sewing project today - turning a favorite pair of pants that had torn too much to repair - into a swanky new bag! I turned the front zipper into a peeking spot with butterfly "undies" underneath. The pockets are all great spots to stick phone, car keys, change etc. I lined it with a soft fleecy brown material and added salvaged wood buttons with loops for easy access. I'm super thrilled at how this project came out and can't wait to use my new sewing machine (an $8 find at a garage sale this summer) to make more new stuff out of salvaged cloth!

First t-shirt painted in 2009

So, I was finishing up this custom t-shirt yesterday and adding the VA with the year and realized it was my first ever VA '09! So cool! This t-shirt is a birthday present for a midwife by the way - for anyone who happens to know what a "Perineum" is - lol

Riding the wave!

Oh yeah, this project is really singing to me again! So glad, because the woman who commissioned this piece has been very patient :)

Began painting the wave box

Finally getting back to some pre-holiday projects that have been neglected. Got a nice start on painting the cedar box this morning. My plan is for full coverage on top - within the woodburned area - to hide the water damage marks then I'll leave the rest of the gorgeous wood just as it is.
