Repurposed Purse!

I made this purse from a pair of patchwork pants I got in Estes Park Colorado when I was a teenager. The pants were ripped and unrepairable, but I couldn't bear to throw them out because I loved the fabric. I added some butterflies to it, knowing it would be my purse... The inside is a very soft plushy remnant from another project and the buttons are coconut shell. Now, I can carry this fun piece of nostalgia around with me every day!

Hounds in the Kitchen Illustration

Was so excited to do an illustration this week for Rachel from Hounds in the Kitchen. She saw a piece of clip art of a chef working at a counter and asked if I could do a picture of her cooking with a couple of kids. I drew this in pencil first then pen, then scanned it and colored in Photoshop. Rachel plans to use this to promote her kid's cooking classes which you can learn more about by visiting her website:

Christmas Ornaments

Now that most of these have been given away, I can finally post a picture!
I created these ornaments with salt dough, then baked them, painted them and sealed them with acrylic. I had so much fun imagining my girls and my little nieces and nephew dressed up like little angels in a choir! The hugging snow couple was for my mom & dad.
