What Women Love Ad for WCBE

I created this illustration and ad for WCBE to use in a women's publication. I had fun sketching women in different poses and came up with some very busy ideas that were fun... but decided on something simple, elegant and beautiful. I had the colors picked out right from the start. I loved putting together the chocolate brown, pink and grey.
This ad hasn't even been printed yet, but it has already brought me in as a listener more often - I have a print out of this ad next to my computer and it's reminding me when some of the shows I enjoy are on the air!

You can listen to them too at 90.5 fm or like I do - streaming on the web at: wcbe.org

Refurbished Jeans

If you have kids you know. Jeans get grungy. The knees wear out, they get strange stains here and there and almost before you've even thrown away the price tag they are officially "play clothes" and unfit for wearing in public. Here is my solution to two wonderful and well-loved pairs of jeans that my girlies wore to death. I patched the holes with fun fabrics and covered spots with decor (drawn on very simply with sharpie markers) and now they are "good as new!" once again.

OEFFA Conference Tomorrow!

I am so excited to be leading a hands-on art and food session for the kids at the OEFFA (Ohio Ecological Food & Farm Association) conference tomorrow! We'll be doing my "Play with your food before you eat it" activity. Creating sculptures out of oatmeal and decorating with fruit, nuts and other goodies before we eat them. I'm also hoping to have time to do a few sing-along songs with them and I made a fun song sheet with some illustrations on it. This one is for the "Buffalo Hunt" song, which is one of my favorites. I keep it non-violent of course and we hunt with our cameras.
